Often I'll use 3D software to create better 2D graphics. In this illustration for Roche Diagnostics, I created a 3D model of this diabetes test strip, then rendered the perspective I wanted, imported it into Illustrator and redrew it to better match the look of the other 2D graphics in the piece. The result combines the realistic perspective from the 3D software with the illustrative look from the drawing program. The best of both worlds. |
