This was a fun project. A photoshoot took place immediately following the
Indy 500 in 1997. The film was couriered to Firehouse, processed and scanned. I then worked with the AD from Bozell out of New York and thoroughly retouched the
image and composited it into magazine layouts. Those files were then transmitted to USA Today, Sports Illustrated, Time and several others. The full-page
ad was in USA Today the following morning. It has been done by NASCAR since, but this was the first time a major race winner appeared in national ads the day following the win. |
